Using Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government data reported to them by District Councils the data on parish precepts issued in 2025-2026 has been analysed in different ways. A total of £36.9 million is raised by 268 parish meetings, parish councils and town councils. This is an average increase of 8.65%. There are 28 parish meetings which made no precept demand on their residents this year, however, they are typically very small communities.

Note on methodology : This data is derived from nationally published data on local precepting authorities (parishes, town councils, drainage boards and Charter Trustees) published annually by Ministry of Communities, Housing and Local Government. Additional information has been added on population derived from the 2021 census as well as banding of parishes by population and size of precept and type of organisation (Parish Meeting, Parish Council and Town Council). In a small number of areas new parishes have been created and there is no current population data or no reasonable estimate can be made.
