List of DMMO Applications by Chas Townley

I first submitted a DMMO Application in 1992 for adding a footpath at Paganhill in Stroud, which at the time was resolved relatively quick and is now recorded as Stroud Footpath 104 and upgrading Wolveley and Cookley (Worcestershire) 625(B) and 626(B) from footpath to bridleway, which I applied for whilst living in Kidderminster and wasn’t resolved until 2009, some 8 years after I returned to Gloucestershire.

In 2008 I submitted an application for a route from Callowell to Stratford Road in Stroud, this was accepted as a footpath in 2016, however, there are objections and it has now joined a list of 32 such orders “awaiting submission” to the Secretary of State .

With the impending “cut off date”, since 2021 I have made a concerted effort to make applications primarily within the Stroud Valleys,but also other cases which have come to light, as at Driffield where investigation of one route, resulted in claims for 3 other routes and at Wotton Under Edge, which came to light when I was investigating a path diversion for the Open Spaces Society.

In total, since 1992, I have made 38 applications, of which so far 6 have resulted in changes to the Definitive Map. 1 is awaiting submission to the Secretary of State and 33 are awaiting investigation and determination by the local authority.
